Release notes about new features, improvements & bug fixing on the Loctax platform

We just released a significant amount of awesome new features, improvements and bug fixes on the Loctax platform! 💥


🆕 New features


Projects

A dedicated app is now available to manage all your project work, including structurings, corporate finance activities, group rationalizations, M&A projects, etc. From this app, you can connect and collaborate with the different internal and external stakeholders of your projects. The project management can be done by means of a timeline on which the different milestones can be tracked. Tasks can be created and assigned to different collaborators. And as always, this app is fully integrated with a single source of truth.

Essential to monitor assets

There is now an asset ledger available which allows to track for all the entities the most essential assets, like IP (brands, patents, …), property (land, buildings, …), machinery & equipment and financial assets. Tracking these assets supports substance and permanent establishment tracking. It also allows having a full picture of when project work is being started.


😎 Improvements

TaxOps expansion

Staying on top of country-specific tax rules has never been easier thanks to the TaxOps expansion. With this release, we have added two new categories: “Advance rulings” and “Procedural: interest & penalties”. Additionally, we have regrouped the corporate, indirect, and withholding tax information and added several new useful tax data points.


Previously the TaxOps page only showed information about the country of incorporation. We now have added a new panel to switch between countries/years on the entity detail page as well.


Our TaxOps improvements are powered by IBFD.

Image upload support in notes and tasks

It is now possible to copy/paste images and screenshots into your notes and tasks, at the speed of light. You can now easily snip screenshots from websites, emails, documents, and spreadsheets, … and paste them into your notes and tasks.

There has now furthermore an icon been added when a note is shared with others. The same is possible for regular, audit & project tasks (uploading images to workflow tasks is not yet possible).

Documents

For all documents, a “file count” has been added, to easily see how many documents are linked to a specific document type.

Workflows

We have listened closely to all of you using the Loctax workflows. We have added various improvements to make the workflows easier to use:

  • The possibility to make all fields required on a data-gathering task

  • Added the ability to set 0 days for before/after when configuring the automated due date calculation.

  • Specifically for the Indirect tax workflow: we made the VAT/GST registration button clickable from the overview table.

Indirect Tax

To manage your indirect tax registrations, we have made some significant changes to the layout of the indirect tax page.

From now on, every VAT/GST registration has its dedicated page. This is a significant improvement for entities that have multiple (direct) registrations. Furthermore, you can add a VAT/GST responsible not only to the entity but also to a specific VAT/GST registration. If the entity has a main responsible person but no responsible person on the registration level, and that registration is selected in a workflow, the main responsible person will become the assignee for the tasks created.

We have made the VAT/GST export more user-friendly. The year and period were added to the export and to the export filename.

Thanks to our new data upload feature, we have made capturing your VAT/GST figures in bulk possible. Via the template, you will be able to import the figures directly from an Excel file.

Legal org chart

A presentation mode has been added which facilitates making screenshots of the Legal org chart. Entities that are on the same level will now be ordered “by region” and subsequently “by country”. Additional pinned datapoints have been added to the sidebar: a table for active VAT/GST Registrations and their filing frequency / due date.

Tasks

As mentioned above, with this release you can now add images to regular, audit & project tasks (uploading images to workflow tasks is not yet possible). Second, you can now also filter on “Unassigned” tasks. Making it easier to find the orphaned tasks. Third, for the tasks created via an Indirect tax workflow, we have added the period as a label on the task detail.

Audits

With the Audits app, you can easily track your ongoing, in litigation, and closed audits. We now have added the "total risk (group CCY)" column to the dashboard table. When exporting the dashboard table, the columns "Total risk (local CCY)" and "Total risk (group CCY)" are included as well.

In the findings table, we made serval improvements. To optimize the screen, you now have the ability to show/hide columns and tweak the column width.

Entities

We have seen more and more users capturing the Internal company numbers (“ICN”) (for example the ERP company codes). We added the ability to search on the ICN as well.

We have moved the “Tax data” panel from the “Data” tab to the “Corporate tax” tab.

Member Management

Did a colleague leave the tax team? You don’t need to contact support any longer to remove a user. Any admin user can now via "Settings" disable members from having access. Disabling a user will strike through the member's name. Disabling a user will not remove the data uploaded by that user.


🛠 Bug fixes


We have also fixed a number of bugs, see the overview below:

  • Improved error handling when adding new documents from the “Documents” page.

  • Member management: fixed a bug where “resend invite” was shown for disabled users

  • Document repository:

    • fixed a bug with EIN/EORI/IOSS/OSS were displayed in lowercase.

  • Tasks:

    • Fixed a bug with redirecting to the task-specific URL after creating it.

    • Fixed a bug where uncompleting was not working from the task detail page.

  • Login: fixed a bug when the user was navigating to the login route but he was already logged in.

  • General: Added a loading indicator for places that have load-on-scroll mechanics (Tasks, documents, members)

  • Audit findings: Fixed a bug with column total risk (local CCY) being 0.

  • General: calendar will now start from Monday instead of Sunday.

  • IDT Workflows: fixed bug when duplicating workflows where manually assigned assignees were not being duplicated as well.
